A Little in-site into our Tai-Chi Classes....
Sunday class:
Tai Chi – Form & Movement (1 hour)
In this class students learn the foundations of Tai Chi – a gentle but powerful martial art practiced for health, balance, and relaxation. We focus on posture, releasing tension, and flowing movements that build strength, flexibility, and calm focus. Each session includes stretching warm-ups, practice of a short Tai Chi form (learned step by step), and simple partner work to explore balance and energy. Over time, students are also introduced to Baguazhang (Bagua), a traditional Chinese martial art known for its circular walking patterns, adaptable movements, and practical applications including throws, joint locks, and strikes. The class is suitable for all levels, with steady progress at each student’s own pace.
Monday class:
Tai Chi – Qigong (1 hour)
This is a guided class in Qigong, the sister art to Tai Chi that combines breathing, movement, and meditation to cultivate energy (“Qi”) and wellbeing. Students do not need to memorise routines — each session is guided and accessible. Practices include gentle stretching and relaxation, alongside traditional methods such as the Six Healing Sounds, Wudang Five-Organ Qigong, and Spontaneous Five-Animal Qigong. The focus is on posture, breath, and releasing tension to improve circulation, relaxation, and mental clarity. Each student works within their own ability, developing a calm, restorative practice that supports both health and Tai Chi training.
