Welcome to Judo at the Busen Martial Arts and Sports Trust – a club steeped in tradition, excellence, and community spirit, with roots dating all the way back to 1901.

Our association was founded by Sadakazu Uyenishi, a Japanese Judo master who introduced Judo to the UK and opened his own dojo in London in 1902 — making us the oldest Judo and Martial Arts Association in the country.
Over the decades, legendary instructors such as Mr. Uyenishi and Mr. Mishiku continued to build this legacy, spreading the principles of respect, discipline, and continuous self-improvement that lie at the heart of Judo.

Today, the Busen proudly continues that heritage — training the next generation of judoka and producing champions at every level, including our back-to-back London Youth Games titles.
